J1 vs J2 — say which one you need
Chinese mills produce 201 in copper-bearing variants: J1 (higher copper, better deep-drawing, used for kitchenware) and J2 (harder, used for tube and panels). Quoting “201” alone leaves this open — specify the variant, or state the end use so the proposed variant can be identified in the quotation.
For tube mills
For tube-mill strip, state slit width, edge condition, camber limit, thickness tolerance and coil build in the RFQ. These are order-specific acceptance criteria and must be confirmed for the proposed supply route before production.
Honest positioning
201 can reduce alloy cost in suitable indoor service. It is not an automatic 304 substitute outdoors or in frequently wet service — see the 201 datasheet for the corrosion trade-offs, or compare with 304 before deciding.
