Send diameter and straightness, surface and machining allowance, cut length and traceability after sawing. Duplex work hardening and the finished geometry change stock allowance, so send the finished-part route with the RFQ.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are UNS S31803 and S32205 interchangeable on a round-bar order?
Not automatically. The project specification and design authority should name the accepted designation and chemistry requirements. The purchase order must preserve that decision rather than assuming a combined marking is acceptable.
How should ferrite or phase balance be specified for 2205 bar?
State the test method, measurement or examination location, surface condition, sampling frequency and acceptance criteria. A request for ferrite testing without those details is not a complete inspection instruction.
When is ultrasonic testing added to a duplex round-bar purchase?
It is supplementary unless the purchased specification or project requirement makes it part of the order. Send the bar-appropriate method, calibration reference, examined volume and acceptance class; we include them in the quotation.
Does a solution-annealed certificate prove suitability for seawater service?
No. It documents an ordered material condition and results, not the complete component design. Temperature, flow, crevices, stress, fabrication, cleaning and the project's corrosion criteria still require engineering review.
What machining information helps define a 2205 bar blank?
Provide finished geometry, stock diameter, machining allowance, straightness need, cut length, end allowance and any center or surface restriction. These inputs allow the bar and cutting route to be reviewed against the part.
