Outside diameter and nominal wall values are a working reference to ASME B36.19M common sizes. Inside diameter is calculated as OD minus twice the nominal wall. Theoretical mass uses 7.93 g/cm³ generic stainless density and does not replace certified dimensions, tolerances or weighbridge results.
OD is shown to one decimal; wall, calculated ID and theoretical kg/m are rounded to two decimals after calculation.
Worked schedule example
Worked example: NPS 2 Schedule 10S uses 60.3 mm OD and 2.77 mm wall, giving 54.76 mm calculated ID and about 3.97 kg/m at 7.93 g/cm3.
Schedule is not pressure rating
Allowable pressure also depends on material, temperature, code, joint, corrosion allowance and design factors.
NPS is not outside diameter
Use the OD column for mating, fabrication and weight calculations; NPS is the nominal size designation.

Source and engineering boundary

Schedule is not a pressure rating and NPS is not OD. Design code, material, temperature, joint, corrosion allowance and tolerances still require engineering approval.
Pipe schedule questions
Does pipe schedule define pressure rating?
No. Schedule supplies a nominal dimensional reference. Pressure design also depends on material, temperature, code, joint, corrosion allowance, weld quality and project approval.
Is calculated inside diameter a certified dimension?
No. It is OD minus twice nominal wall. Ordered tolerances, ovality, weld condition and the governing product standard control the delivered pipe.
Why is theoretical kg/m different from scale weight?
The displayed mass uses nominal geometry and 7.93 g/cm3 reference density. Actual dimensions, grade density, tolerance, end preparation and measurement basis can change the result.
